Mardi Podesta Head Shot

Mardi Podesta, President

I have been a resident since 1960. I have a large extended family close by – which makes me a very happy person. My longtime boyfriend helps keep me grounded and I have a fabulous job working for my best friends.

I have served on the boards of the Hollywood Women’s Club and Unity of Hollywood Church in addition to the HHCA. My commitment is to make sure that the city of Hollywood retains its small town atmosphere by helping to ensure that our neighborhoods are maintained by the homeowners and the City. I believe that in giving, I receive so much.

My hobbies are spending time with my family, volunteering, traveling and boating. I am a member of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Columbiettes and the Hollywood Hills Civic Association.

We moved from Toronto, Canada to Ormond Beach and then to Hollywood August 1985. Our family has lived in Hollywood Hills, in the same house, ever since. It was the worst house on the block, but we took on a full renovation after we had a fire in 2006.

We have seen our 2 children grow up in this home and now have 2 granddaughters. Ralph and I have been married for 44 years. I have been employed by Communications Workers of American for 21 years.

We have been members of Hollywood Hills United Methodist Church since 1986 where I held many different positions throughout the Church. We have been members of the Hollywood Hills Civic Association since 1990. I have been a board member for the past 10 years and the Treasurer for the past 3 years. I continue to enjoy serving the community in this capacity. We have seen a lot of changes in Hollywood, some good, some bad but we love being close to the beach and the boardwalk.
